RemyBolt 420
Well, I have finally found 10 minutes 'free time' where I'm able to give a little heads up for the crazy pleasure that was my marathon shooting/ratting session. I'll do a full write up very shortly...but not tonight, as I'm out playing pool. Amazingly I'm on a pool team where I'm the only one that's not permanently working on a farm! But I'll try and get a draft written up for before I head out tonight. I spent all of around 2 hours writing up how Day 1 went, and when I clicked to post it, totally lost internet signal and my screen went blank. It didn't post!!! So I'm going to have to start all over again. Since then, I've not had any spare time. Sunday was manic and full of fun, but no spare time. Had our wedding anniversary yesterday, so that kept me busy, tonight pool....so hopefully you'll be able to read up about my brilliantly poor shooting some time on Wednesday. So, for the moment, I'll give you a couple of sneaky bits of information that'll make you smile. 1. If the farmer gives you permission, you can actually shoot a small .22 pellet through a thin bit of wall (crappy thin wooden walling) and smash through a rat's skull. 2. Rats make no noise, but are also noisy as hell! 3. Chickens turn up in the most unusual places. 4. Where your mind drifts off to when you are sat in the dark, in silence, alone.....................(these full stops are for dramatic effect) 5. How a poor ghost impression is a super smart hunting outfit. 6. Simple mistakes that you don't make, that distract you and then you make those mistakes....oops. 7. Changing CO2 in the dark is much easier than you'd think, but also quite the unexpected event. There's a whole lot of stuff you can do wrong, but all you need is to have 1 good shot to take out a rat. So when you have loads of rats all around you...you know you're in a world of fun. 1 Quote Link to post
