In the wrong hands they can be very harmful to a dog. To those that say "just walk the dog" unless you have super human powers you wont get the same results from walking or even a bike as you will with a mill used correctly. Reminds me of a lad I used to know. He used to put the dog on the mill in the shed and put a baby monitor beside it. He'd be in watching telly with the other baby monitor beside him and when he'd hear the mill slowing down he'd roar into the monitor to make the dog pick up again.
