Guest SJM
go on your own mid week in the afternoon it definitely less hassle Good advice, through the week is always the best, theres less people out and about walking/on motorbikes/horses etc so its quieter. Some people say early mornings are best but I always think it looks more suss trying to explain why your out and about at the crack of dawn. Through the daytime is the best. Another good tip is to go and look for good fields with a dog like a lab or spaniel. You can walk about and not get any hassle and if you do get seen or stopped, well your hardly going to get done for hare coursing with that type of dog are you? Then when you go back with the lurcher you will know where to go and where the hares are likely to be lying. Driving the fields is a no, no, only stupid, lazy people do that Park up somewhere and walk a bit if you have to, we park all sorts of places, schemes, nature trails, public footpaths etc. If you always have a leash in your pocket you can pop the dog on it and your out for a walk. As long as you dont have hares about your person you will be ok. If you do get lifted, well you get lifted and thats it, like Baz says you have to take the rough with the smooth, as they say in Goodfellas always keep yer mouth shut and never rat on your friends Quote Link to post
Guest shaheen
I live on the edge of the Fen's and before that right in the Fen's,in my area you dont see anyone and the only person around is moi ,ive spoken to a couple of lads from the North East that i bumped into once whilst i was hawking hares and they had their Long dogs and we had a good chat etc wishing them luck and thats it,as long as you dont go ploughing across Spring Barley in Vans you wont get noticed Edited November 10, 2007 by shaheen Quote Link to post
