i heard on the radio today about charging 50 pound per person for alcohol related injurys and there hoping to raise millions which will pay for the police presence plus a increase in nurses getting a pay rise and increasing budgets for the nhs i think if its roll out country wide i think it could create much needed revue for the nhs

You have to be kidding? Right? You stop off for a pint at the end of your shift, walk outside the pub and a car knocks you down, but because you have alcohol in your system it is classed as alcohol related and they charge you £50 to be admitted to hospital.

 

We already pay over the odds because of the NHS, and all the fat barstewards with the private health insurance paid for by us want to charge us for what we already pay for. You must be having a laugh?

The barstewards have already made smoking the crime of the century telling people that it costs the NHS amount of money a year blah blah blah. What the don't tell you is the the revenue from tobacco is 12.3 billion £'s a year the same for alcohol which contributes 14.6 billion £'s a year. so that is nearly 27 billion £'s that we criminals that smoke and drink contribute over and above what a person who does neither contributes every year and now they want to charge us more on top FCUK OFF.

yea, really bright idea, brilliant excuse to employ more pen pushers to admin the whole scheme, try charging health tourists for the care they get for free and give the EU patients the same as we would get from them if we were sick in their country, that would put a lot more cash back into the system that this sheite idea

i think its aimed at theses that get in to fights tc and need treatment for there injurys but has normally the case a few get punished for the dicks that cant take there beer but theres plenty of countrys that charge for admissions so this may be a way of getting charges in over here

Would say its fine if its used as max pointed out. Seen it on tv and when out plenty of people who are actually probably alright but can't handle their drink. Sure if they watched themselves back they'd cringe. Fine the idiots and stop others traveling here just to abuse the free health care.

Go into any A and E on a friday or saturday night in Big Towns or cities country wide and view all the chavvy fooking idiots abusing staff who are trying to help them because they are drunk or high.

Yes charge them 50 and then Fine the wankers for abusing public servants.

That's what we need, what is basically another stealth tax. Something like this will always be aimed at people who drink or smoke or drive. I would argue that a great many more people are admitted to hospital because of injury through their own stupidity or carelessness than anything alcohol related. They could make a fortune if they charged those as well.

 

As I see it, the NHS has been (and still is being) milked so much over the last 30 - 40 years by those who have not contributed to it, that's why it's going down the pan, but this government won't address that for fear of upsetting people.

Have any of you been in A&E on a Saturday night? I have when my mother needed help, and it's so full of pissed up nobs with fighting injuries and un conscious paralytic teenagers you can't get seen for hours.

 

My next for neighbour is a nurse in A&E and you should here some of the abuse they have to put up with its untrue.

 

It's not a tax for the general public it's a fine for idiots who want to fill themselves up with toffee vodka or whatever the shit they drink and think they are Mike Tyson at the end of the evening. So yes f*ck em they are just wasting the NHS services and it's a good idea

there was a report in the daily mail 2 weeks ago it says there is 7 thousand new cases of hiv every year over half come from abroad for free treatment it cost £20.000 a year for each one then they will want somewhere to live money to live on
