walshie 2,804
Good news is it'll be a small moon, overcast and breezy. Bad news is my proper lamper isn't around tonight, so I have to take the rubbish one with me instead. (Yes..you know who you are.) Instead of a quick flick round the place to spot some eyeshine, then manouvre into position for a good safe shot, he seems to think burning their retinas out with the lamp on full is the best way to distract them. If I don't shoot any tonight, they'll be blind by morning so I can go and pick them off then. Quote Link to post
walshie 2,804
Well I wasn't expecting a lot with the lamp flashing here and there like a searchlight, but I did manage to get one fox in the end. As we pulled the buggy over to it to chuck the fox in the back, I saw 2 people with torches walking towards us. They had definitely seen us as we both had our head torches on. Then I heard a police radio crackling. I could do without all the whys and wherefores to be honest. My gun was resting on its bipod on the front of the buggy. The 2 coppers broke into a run. "Here we go" I thought. As they got near us, one of them said "Alright lads?" and they kept on running past. They were heaving around in the undergrowth a few yards from us. My mate said "anything we can help you with?" One of the cops said "No thanks. We know where he's gone." Another message on the radio to say their colleagues had caught whoever "he" was and off they trotted. You don't see that every night. Quote Link to post
