Guest john2007oliver
What i think it is, if you start giving an adult dog cow milk, due to it being so rich it can give them the sh*ts etc but starting them young on it they get use to it. Im no erxpert though just my opinion Quote Link to post

beddiwhuppet 10
why give them milk, they dont need it. well i personally dont give my dog milk, just that my mate gives his bitch a bowl a day,you would think with the nutrients thats in it,it would be good for them, guess thats whats in his thinkin anyway, it does make sense well to me anyway ,no problems with his bitch shes whippet/grey an absolute flying machine ,cheers Quote Link to post
bill88 6
If my dogs been running late at night,i give them some warm milk thats been watered down half and half with water to this,i add a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar, and a tablespoon of honey. Its just to give them a little boost after they've been working, because obviously they can't be fed straight after running. My old man always did this ,and his dogs were always in tip top condition. As for feeding milk as part of a dogs day to day diet,i can't really see the point, and it will run the guts out of them.jmo Quote Link to post

Guest Ditch_Shitter
When I kept a milking nanny goat here ~ not using milk myself ~ I gave it to my Dogs. Christ, they loved it! Can't honestly say though that I noticed and differences due to it what so ever. Saying that though; I was always a tad wary - just a gut thing - and felt I was more indulging them than doing them any direct good by it. Bit like giving kiddies sweets. Quote Link to post

Not really reccommended... cow's milk. It can cause gastrointestinal difficulties -- specifically diarrhea -- in most dogs. However, Goat's milk -- fresh, unprocessed -- is highly tolerable and often used as a replacement or supplement for a nursing newborn pups Dogs do not have the proper enzymes to properly break down the sugar in milk which is called 'lactose.' You may have heard of people who are lactose-intolerant. They are also missing these digestive enzymes. If the proper enzymes are not present, the lactose remains undigested and tends to ferment in the intestine and cause diarrhea. Some pets can tolerate a little milk, others, none at all. Guest reload
The best milk if you MUST give cows is straight out the parlour unpasturised, not many dogs get loose on that. Goats milk is better as its better tolorated by dogs. Quote Link to post
