moxy 617
So I take it that I don't need a licence as long as I stick to what I'm supposed to shoot ( on my permission ). Also what are " avian" species. Thanks Muzzie Birds dude, Birds. Quote Link to post

wirral countryman 2,110
Mate, if you need to ask what can be killed then you have no business hunting in the field alone, get your mate if he knows to show you and help you identify all the legal quarry, WM 2 Quote Link to post
Coypu Hunter 486
Derr, avian, from the French , to fly.... Nope. Avion is French for aeroplane, and you won't have much luck shooting those. Avian comes from avis, which means bird in Latin. As others have said, you need to test pellets to find your rifle's favourite, then practise until you can hit a one-inch kill zone at your normal hunting ranges. Otherwise, your permission will come to an abrupt end when the landowner or one of his guests sees a wounded rabbit running past, screaming and bleeding. Quote Link to post

treecreeper 1,136
There is no such thing as officially air gun vermin, and a hare is game not vermin. but seeing as he doesn't know what he can and cant legally shoot, I would suggest he sticks to the basc list providing he can shoot and have a good read of the GL. 3 Quote Link to post
PLEDGEY 496
Join BASC!. You'll get loads of info off there site. If you're still not sure about something you can call them. You'll be insured for public and product liability. They'll help out if you ever have any problems with the Police. If you try for new permissions it's good to tell the land owner you have all of the above. I wouldn't be without my membership. Quote Link to post
