walshie 2,804
You just never know what stories they have to tell. My mrs visits an old couple down the road. He's 97 and she's 94. When she got there today, there was a film crew interviewing him about when he served in the Welsh Guards. I'm looking forward to seeing that on telly when it comes out. Brigzy 1,298
I thought you were going to say they smell of pee. We all get old, but I bet those people in there 90's had it harder than most of us alive today............
sandymere 8,263
There's a tale behind every face, had an old boy in, in his 90's, and got chatting, turns out he was a professional rabbit catcher in his youth, went up to the Scottish Isles and all sorts. I meant to follow up and try to get him to tell me all about his life and there rabbiting trips, alas never did and now he's died so the chance has gone. Would have made an interesting article, could kick myself.
the monkey 338
One of my customers was a character ,always had a brew with him Asked him what he did in the war..... He was a test pilot, when the planes came out of the factory he got in it flew it 40 miles up the coast and back, iif it was ok he passed it. They were pretty good he only had engine failure about 15 times( what) Ditched it I the fields and found the nearest phone so he could be picked up
walshie 2,804
I agree their stories can get boring when they are repeated over and over, but my mrs has been popping in on them for over 2 years now and this is the first she's ven heard of him being in the Army. Good for him I say.
