Savage Steve 15
Sealskins socks .How waterproof are they ????? I have a pair of Harkila boots that are cracking across the tops and now leak .I don't want to buy new boots as these are only two years old. Thought sealskins might be the answer. Savage Steve 15
Thanks for the comments. Interesting not being warm though Byron, might be best to go for the lighter ones and wear warm socks underneath rather than just get the thick ones. Steve Quote Link to post
torchey 1,328
Not cheap but they are good and mlne are pretty warm Quote Link to post
Savage Steve 15
Thanks Guys, Have decided to go thin with thin thermal socks. Cheers Steve Quote Link to post
rfndan 0
100% waterproof and not bad for warmth or you can use merino liner socks and your guaranteed warm dry feet Quote Link to post
top cat 19
Good gear I'm fortunate got mine off my lad 3 pairs Quote Link to post
Guest vin
they do what it say on the tin. love em. Quote Link to post
dytkos 17,791
I bought my first pair about 12 years ago and the second pair about 5 years ago. I got mine for mountain biking and they are brilliant. Mine are fairly warm and I only have a pair of bike shoes on. There are several other brands available, there was some in the Aldi Or Lidl catalogue a few weeks back, about 1/2 the price of Sealskinz. HTH. Cheers, D. Quote Link to post
cragman 2,769
Surely the idea is to not get your socks wet in the first place, so I'd have thought that investing in good boots is the best way to go with a couple of pairs of socks on. It's akin to getting a waterproof sweater and wearing a poor outer coat! Just seen some sealskins for £30 odd quid in GoOut Doors! Quote Link to post
tatsblisters 9,640
they do what it say on the tin. love em. Tempted to buy some from that new clearance outdoor shop on parkgate retail they were a lot cheaper in their than any were else. Quote Link to post
wilbur foxhound 480
I would take the harkila boots back to the shop Quote Link to post
brucemyster 75
Got some sealskinz when the sole of my wellie was punctured and had a slight leak, 100% waterproof and 100% toastie, cheaper than buying new boots. 1 Quote Link to post
