shropshire mole 190
Hi, Would have thought that if you already use fenns and mesh tunnels for rat control, then would know exactly how to trap squirrels? Quote Link to post

Mr Muddy 141
If they’re at the bottom of your own garden you want to be reaching for the air rifle, don’t yer? Much more fun. Quote Link to post

shropshire mole 190
Although more expensive, get your self a Kania 2000, it a fantastic trap - can use it with a cage to help ensure non target species dont get "killed" Saying that I have had 2 experiences where a hedge hog has somehow managed to squeeze in the cage turn 90 degrees and get killed. Fix the kania on to the tree, your squirrels will just have to come and investigate Quote Link to post
socks 32,253
Brilliant trap I use them all the time .... I also use a running snare line with bait station .... Quote Link to post
Born Hunter 17,768
With mk6 Fenns already in the shed I don't think I'd be shelling out £50+ a time for Kanias. They might be the dogs but can you really justify it for the given situation? Keepers and Rangers up and down the country kill thousands of squirrels every year with Fenns. It's my opinion the mk4 may be a little under gunned at times but the mk6 set correctly is humane. I find being a bit intelligent with the tunnel, to guide the target onto the plate just right, makes the Fenn a very humane killer. JMO Edited October 16, 2014 by Born Hunter Quote Link to post
J Darcy 5,871
Socks I believe that kania set-up is not legal. There has to be a 'tunnel' leading into it to avoid non-target species. Just saying. Quote Link to post
