Cedric 132
I made some Shoot & See targets and they worked fine, however, I found it was difficult to pick out my reticule cross hair and mil dots against the black background so I tried making some light ones and this is the result . Pretty good. Quote Link to post
shropshire dan 467
Fair play mate. How have you done that. Ive been struggling taking my .22-250 out to 300 yards as I cant see the impact lol Quote Link to post
Cedric 132
Sheet of paper or card, cover it with strips of Selotape and spray paint. The bullet snaps the paint off the Selotape and shows the contrasting colour underneath. You could make pretty big ones if you wanted longer ranges. Quote Link to post
Rikweller 14
Just curious what do you use as a back stop? Waiting to get cleared for my FAC and was trying to figure out the best options for zero and target practice? Air rifles are not so much of a problem to consider but don't fancy a dodgy ricochet from the .22 Quote Link to post
shropshire dan 467
Cheers cedric will give it a go Quote Link to post

Mine is a Hawke job, got it for about £30 new in a sale, certainly worth a look around, and you really don't need to spend a fortune...so long as you don't want to see at 1000 yards! Bigad 136
Them targets seem easy to make should be cost effective Quote Link to post
Cedric 132
Rikweller - backstop is a steep banking at the bottom of a hill - in a field. I zero my NV .22lr subs, in the yard where my workshop is - 50 yards - and use some 3" pine boards nailed to a sheet of thick plywood, works fine. Deker - I have a few "I made earlier". I make all sorts of stuff, some work, some don't. Last week I made a spinner target for the air rifle but rather "over engineered" it and a pellet hardly moves it - I'll use it for the rimfire. I got one of those scopes from Aldi. It's OK but I can only make out bullet holes in white paper clearly up to about yards but it's fine for quarry spotting at much longer ranges. At the printers where I bought the black card I got them to laminate one sheet for me - to see if I could get away without using Sellotape. It did work but too much paint split off due to the plastic being too rigid. I've got some glossy black now and will try that without the tape, see what happens. It's sticking the Sellotape on thats a pain, I'm going to try painting the card with clear varnish before spraying them. Some chaps have used thin polythene sheet stuck down with spray on glue.
