patterdale 674
Is it down to personal preference or should an air rifle gun torch clamp sit in front or behind the front or back scope mount? Quote Link to post
moxy 617
I mount mine in front of the front mount depending which light I use, but the personal position isn't important. Just as long as the beam is focused and doesn't give you any glare in the scope. Or reflection off the barrel or silencer. Quote Link to post
patterdale 674
Cheers Moxy,Ill be using a red beamed T20 that I bought off Custhy Mush off here.I tried earlier the different options and the one you suggested seems the better position. Quote Link to post

RemyBolt 420
I use 2 torches on my setup. First is a normal full spectrum torch that I have on a horizontal mount at the side of my barrel. This is great for rat-lamping (a rat will often freeze for 2-3 seconds when hit with a strong beam of light). The second is an IR torch. I have this mounted above my scope vertical to the scope and gun. I also use a spotting system with zero zoom. Whenever the IR spotting beam hits the back of the scope, the screen on my scope system totally screws up! Play about with different mounting positions. I had to move mine forward a little because the balance was off for 'lazy shots' and had scope shadow to the point where it was making certain shots difficult. But it's all good now and the IR beam has zero shadow. So I'm shooting with a full screen for my NV system. Edited October 9, 2014 by RemyBolt 1 Quote Link to post
bugg 84
Its on top on the s410 and on the ultra se iv mounted it under the silencer, not much use if your lying down but I dont go prone to shoot very often, dont have many fields that are manicured enough to use the bipod so doesn't matter to me, well the wife its "her gun" of coarse Quote Link to post
Cedric 132
I find as far foreward as possible cuts down on glare. Mine is in front of the front mount. Quote Link to post
