bart308 11 Posted October 21, 2014 Report Share Posted October 21, 2014 Had one do that last year, just wasted away despite eating, I put it down to old age and in the end he was so weak n wobbly so had to put him out of his misery too. Anyone know if there is a particular wasting disease or is it just old and knackered, gues he was about 6? Quote Link to post

Bart sounds like there was something else up as 6 isn't that old for a ferret,I have a Jill here and she' is coming on 10 and this is her first winter she will not be ferreting.she finnally looking a bit past it,and lost a big tooth.that'll be her in full retirement.she can now see out the rest of her days in a warm hutch with plenty grub. atb Quote Link to post

muddy210 34 Posted October 30, 2014 Report Share Posted October 30, 2014 try a bit of belly pork soon gets the weight on em, few that have been handed to me in the past have come in really skinny and under weight other wise free feed him some kibble soon pack some weight on with that.
