Ebola Outbreak Spain

Recommended Posts

Do you think these extremist IS lot could use Ebola ,,,,in theory a gang of them could wander around an infected area,,then jump on a plane to the west?

Urm...potentially. I remember someone saying it would be easy to put an infectious disease into an aerosol and then spray it over the apples in Morrisons. Terrifying how simple it would be to properly screw the whole country.

Ebola has been around for many years. One of the reasons it's never been considered a massive threat is because we don't hear about the cases of it. Usually it would appear in a small remote village in Africa. When someone gets ill, the whole village falls ill, and everyone dies. The village becomes extinct. But then nobody is left to spread the disease. Hundreds, if not thousands of villages have been erased by this disease, but we hear nothing about it because most people do not even know these places existed to begin with.

Now that we are a much more 'globally mobile' society, we hear about something and send aid. Then we send people out to help. But we are dealing with a disease that has no known cure, no symptoms...until it's too late, and has a very rapid degeneration period (from symptom to death). You are only infectious when you are showing symptoms. So the moment you start to cough and spit, you are spreading the disease. Go see your doctor and you'll infect them. After the 24 day incubation period, they'll have a slight cough, and start spreading that to the rest of the practice and their patients (have you noticed how we're not discussing spreading to loved ones or your children, or their school friends, etc?). Suddenly their patients fall ill 24 days later and infect a load of other people. But by the time the doctor has died (3 days after showing symptoms) it'll be near impossible to track the social interaction path of that person. So immediately everyone that's had contact with them starts to freak out! Better still, they get rounded up as being 'potential cases' and put into a containment unit. So, those that are uninfected are now in a unit with those that are infected.....oh dear.....

DogFox, you seriously think Tomo has just come up with an idea that the worlds best terrorist masterminds haven't already thought of? LOL

He's not even the first one to say it on this site.

Am I hell but I've seen things like this plenty of times on the news where someone mentions if terrorists were to do such and such we would be in trouble, makes me shake my head.

What's the facts with Spain, where and how many? My nearest and dearest are in Spain at this moment

http://www.skynews.com.au/news/top-stories/2014/10/08/over-50-people-monitored-for-ebola-in-spain.html

The scariest part of this article?

Meanwhile, the British Army said more than 100 British Army medics were being sent to Sierra Leone to help tackle the ebola crisis within the next few weeks. - See more at: http://www.skynews.com.au/news/top-stories/2014/10/08/over-50-people-monitored-for-ebola-in-spain.html#sthash.uez7Tqbc.dpuf

How the f**k is it the responsibility of the British Army to go and risk their lives (and millions of us here when they get home) dealing with these people? Aren't there enough do-gooders who want to go and do this sort of thing instead of ordering the army to do it? :censored:

Plenty of do-gooders, one of which is the Spanish nurse that's got Ebola, and is potentially going to be one of the most famous people in the world if she brings ebola to the Western world and kills off more people than Hitler and WW2.

I just hope that a cure gets fast tracked and is successful!

I think the Army has a lot more experience with decontamination, and Personal Protection Equipment. So, they are probably the best choice. Speaking of choice they don't actually get one do they.

How bad would it be to impose a 21+ day quarantine prior to traveling away from the infected region? Seems prudent to me.
