paulus 26
read a report that said it has the possibility to wipe out 96% of the worlds population as it spreads exponentially across the world. the worry is they have no idea how that Spanish nurse contracted it whilst working in quarantine conditions that are world class. Born Hunter 17,763
Risk to cost analysis.... Historically Ebola has been very containable due to the fact it's not airborne and it's short incubation period. 3rd world countries don't have the highly connected population centres to spread it and 1st world countries have the infrastructure and technology to contain it. Fact is someone has considered the risk of a pandemic outbreak and the cost of isolating ourselves and decided it isn't worth it. If Ebola ever evolved into an airborne strain then we would all need to shit ourselves, lol.

RemyBolt 420
More than terror attacks and things like that, disease is the biggest concern for our staffing issues at the moment. We're having to look at the possibility of Ebola and how that would effect the company, not just because of the fact we work with travel insurance, but because if we have an Ebola outbreak we would not want to risk any of our staff by them gathering in a collective location. Thoughts of separated cubicles, like an isolation section have been considered, staff testing, and the alike. More than any other threat, disease is our number 1 fear as a company! Ebola has a death rate like 90-95%, with no cure. You'd be an idiot not to be worried about an outbreak of something that dangerous.
TOMO 26,121
Do you think these extremist IS lot could use Ebola ,,,,in theory a gang of them could wander around an infected area,,then jump on a plane to the west?
Born Hunter 17,763
They could Tomo, but I doubt they'd kill many people. Transmission is through contact with infected bodily fluids and people get sick so quick that diagnosis and isolation is rapid in a country like ours. I really do think that a pandemic is unlikely, call me naïve but I trust our medical professionals. Spain have a case.... just see if it turns into an epidemic. I very much doubt it.
