Depends how many days your getting and how many are in the syndicate I would say walked up days are the best shooting any man can have but that's my opinion a full driven pheasant day would set you back anywhere from 125 to 300 a gun depending time of year and estate

Depends on more than just what they release but it doesn't sound bad on the face of it. I'd sort of expect 4+ days shooting out of that but only really expect to shoot a dozen game birds/fowl over those four days plus vermin.

I'd want to know how many days you'll be shooting, how many are in this rough shoot, what's a typical bag (woodcock, snipe, rabbit, pigeon etc) and is the land the sort of land I'd enjoy rough shooting over.

Personally I'd pay a lot more than 250 for a nice bit of rough shooting for the season, so if you like what you're hearing go for it. Worse case, you do a season a don't like it.

A bit of subject lads,

But when I see this sort of topic on here it makes me appreciate the Gun Club system we have here in Eire.

Anything from hundreds of acres to thousands of acres with a few hundred pheasants released, plenty of ducks, snipe, woodcock and vermin all for 100 to 200 euro including insurance.

The clubs release the game and keep the farmers on our side and that's it for nearly 30 days shooting a year.

A good system.

Ah that explains it, I quickly gathered it wasn't about being a nature reserve. I asked about shooting in the area I visitied (Wexford and Longford/Leitrim) and was told as long as there isn't a sign on the gate just leave the farmer a bottle of wine/whisky and he won't mind.

Though he might not want you on with a rifle!
