bird 10,013
yeh vet rap is the cheapest option , but how come you only had the one off when it was a pup , or have got it wrong .lol the prob is when you have dew claw off in a older dog, its like having thumb amputed as to a adult, that's why there charge more. But they do make a mint out of dog owners, prob next time get a pup with both removed. Bryn got his still on and over the years as had few probs catching them, and ripping the nail off , so have sometimes covered them like above. But I made sure my next lurcher as had them off, and Buck as had them took off when small pup. Dewclaw69 484
i'm lucky with my lurcher as he had his off as a pup. but my staff ripped one off about 6 weeks ago. just kept it clean and it never bothered her. growing back now though. considering how easy it is to remove dew claws on a day old pup i'm surprised that any litter of pups bred for working don't have them removed. no trauma for the pup and easier than docking a terrier Edited October 7, 2014 by robs5230 1 Quote Link to post
