A Mixi And One Less Due Claw

was going past the golf course today i seen a far few rabbits about,most with mixi i think,enyway gets the dog out to give her a few runs in till after the first one we was asked to leave...no bother.

 

enyway shes ripped her one and only due claw off..shall i just clean with salt water??

 

i want in gone but the vets quoted me 282 just for the 1 to be removed,feck that,vet rap i use in future

yeh vet rap is the cheapest option , but how come you only had the one off when it was a pup , or have got it wrong .lol the prob is when you have dew claw off in a older dog, its like having thumb amputed as to a adult, that's why there charge more.But they do make a mint out of dog owners, prob next time get a pup with both removed. :yes: Bryn got his still on and over the years as had few probs catching them, and ripping the nail off , so have sometimes covered them like above.But I made sure my next lurcher as had them off, and Buck as had them took off when small pup.

i'm lucky with my lurcher as he had his off as a pup. but my staff ripped one off about 6 weeks ago. just kept it clean and it never bothered her. growing back now though.

considering how easy it is to remove dew claws on a day old pup i'm surprised that any litter of pups bred for working don't have them removed. no trauma for the pup and easier than docking a terrier

ray for some reason mate the bloke must of missed her other claw when he was nipping the litters of :blink: the other one was cut of just fine...

 

your not wromg n.l..am going to vet rap it up this season then get it done sping time...
