Wabbithunter First off, yes they are very reliable. Easily one of the best air rifles on the market. Lots of lads on here use them, and I'm sure they'd testify the same. Charging is done using either a specially designed pump, or from a diver's air bottle. As for the maintenance- having never owned a pre-charged pneumatic myself, I can't give too much detail, but you would have to have, or have access to a pump or a diver's air bottle! As for power output, I'd imagine that stock power would come close to the legal limit of 12 ftlbs- somewhere around 11.8ftlbs - which is perfectly adequate for all air rifle pursuits! Hope that's of some help mate...I'm sure some of the s410 owners on here will be happy to tell you a bit more! Quote Link to post
goshawking719 492
hi, i use the above air rifle but in .22. very reliable gun. had mine a year and not had a problem, took bags of rabbits with it, put it across a crono for the first time last week and it was shooting between 11.7 and 11.8 fp. As for charging id advise you to go for a divers bottle. they are initialy a little more expensive than a pump maybe by £50 or so but are so much easier in the long run. takes seconds to fully recharge your gun. not the most experianced air gunner by any stretch of the immagination but i would strongly reccomend the s410 hth? andy s410c 61
Hi there wabbithunter i own AA S410c .22 excellent rifle.Lightweight, handles well in the field& as accurate as the person using it.I fill mine via a logun stirrup pump as i only shoot weekends but if you are using it more regular get a bottle!!Calibre is down to personal preference dont want to get in to the tragectory debate, pellet placement, kill zones,etc..... wabbithunter_15 0
Thanks for all the advice guys. i have a air compresser would that be adequate enough or would you need some special adaptor? could any body post a pic of where to put the compressed air in? would be very helpful as for power out put it sounds as if these guns are the "bees knees" when it comes to power. do you need to have some special liscence to own these rifles or can you just buy them over the counter. and finally the (pellets) is there any advantage of the .177 over the .22 or vise versa? i apologise for a the noobie questions but every one has to start some where  thanks again to all your all very helpful Edited October 23, 2007 by wabbithunter_15 Quote Link to post
Guest jason1888
.177 has a lower tragectery but the .22 has more impact power if your going to shooting vermin like woodies rabbits or rats then the .22 would be the one but there is also enough hitting power in the .177 justy need to be more acurit woth the .177 search the threads for .177 vs .22 there loads of adivce there mean that sort of question will never be answerd good luck when you get a new gun jason Quote Link to post
andy s410c 61
Wabbithunter i dont think using a compressor to fill your gun is recommended.Compressors hold moisture in the bottom of the tank you need to put the cleanest filtered air into a pcp.Your best options are a air bottle, stirrup pump or filling at a diving shop.If you did go down the compressor route by the time youve bought the adaptors, fittings, etc may be more cost effective to do 1 of the 3 above. Also consider the safety issues with compressed air Quote Link to post
Bryan 1,362
[great gun very very accurate a 12 ft/lb will easily hit rabbits out to 50 yards. you'll need a FAC for any power air rifle on the island of Ireland, so if you want to get a higher powered air rifle then you should look at theoben rapids. AA410 will go up to 26 ft/lb but need a long barrel to do that and you lose alot on shot count. for a 12 ft/lb gun i'd say they are only matched or beaten in that price range by the HW100 Bryan Quote Link to post
