gibby 0
I know a guy who got fined even though the keeper never wanted to pursue it (you know who you are mate ). And that was years ago. In Scotland. Nowadays I reckon some constabularies will want to make an example of you and hit you with a fine etc. So... Dont get caught Quote Link to post
FERRETINGMOUCHER 1
"trespassing in pursuit of game" as they call it but most likely a slap on the wrist. But be quiet, keep your head down, respect the land dont get caught and you wont have to find out. Quote Link to post

Guest little_lloyd
Most of the farmers dont give a f**k, its the keepers that kick the fuss up!! Good to be a keeper eh Quote Link to post
Guest Bigbob
dnt think they cando anything as there is no tresspassing laws in scotland Pretty sure your right there so they just do you with tresspass and damage .The minute you go threw or over a fence your damaging it and your done .The amount of rabbits about this year most farmers are glad to have sombody thin them out just knock on there door and ask them . mooster 1
The police, courts, and even some farners might not seem to mind too much but don't forget most farmers will be in touch or even related to other farmers far and wide. That means you risk getting a very bad name for yourself and other ferreters amongst landowners/farmers far and wide and by the time the story has been passed around a few times it will have received the "chinese whispers" effect with you being an aggressive gang of poachers carrying surface to air missiles in a ferret box! If someone came into my garden without asking permission I certainly would not ask him politely to leave. Quote Link to post
Corky(amateur) 0
the amount of letdowns i've had on permissions , thinkin bout doin it meself, can't be that hard. they hardly got security guards and cctv watching 60 acres of land have they?! Quote Link to post
johnrthrfrd 223
got caught with the ferrets a few years ago they tried to do us for trespassing in pursuit of game rote letter to the court stating rabbits were't game but vermin got done for trespassing in pursuit of coneys. still had to go to court got fined but got all equipment back Quote Link to post
Tyla 3,179
Does anyone know what the score would be with your SGL or FAC if your caught poaching? i would think that they would see that as a golden opportunity to revoke everything or even influence your chances of getting one in the future. Any views? Quote Link to post
