RemyBolt 420
Well, we've played a syndicate lottery group in the office today...kind of. With the few that have popped in their £2.00 if we win it'll be a total of £16million each. That Zebra Ranch is looking like a real possibility.
dare 1,103
Does there come an age where people stop wanting money? Know more than one person who's not knocking on heavens door just yet. Thing is they seem to just accept their life how it is and dont want more. I'm not a delboy who thinks we're all gonna be millionaires. Surely though you gotta keep wanting more from life otherwise what's the point? Nothing to aim for just plod along until your gone.

I think if it's in your make up to push yourself and aspire to things that won't change... But as you get older you can temper it with enjoying what you have got against pushing hard for what you haven't.... I hope so anyway lol

NEWKID 27,143
I was replying to dare Mate, "does there come an age when people stop wanting money".. All the things you've stated are completely different and some or all of them will be strived for always ( family and kids obviously)... And your right there is more to life than money, but it's shit being skint IMO, so a good push whilst you can to earn a few bob ain't a bad thing IMO... dare 1,103
Of course family and friends are more important than money. There are some things that bring alot of joy and make you smile which don't cost money. On the other hand making or counting money is probably up there with having sex. Some people seem happy to just get by though or plod along, I can't understand that.

I hope so anyway lol I dont think you ever lose the desire to make money you just lose the urgency......what was necessary when your young hopefully isnt necessary when you reach a certain age......most people who reach a certain level of wealth will be making money from their money which naturally leads to a lack of urgency in getting your hands dirty but unless your just plain lucky in terms of inheritance/lotto etc you never lose that attitude towards a pound note as its that attitude that got you there in the first place in my opinion.

My comment about more to life than money was in response to dare seeming to say that it makes no sense to stop always wanting more money. Fact is, for a lot of people once they have hit an income level where they are financially comfortable, increasing their disposable has less value to them and other aspects of life have more. Suggesting that those that have reached that level are just "plodding along" is naive and IMO lacks a certain understanding of what life is about for many of those that consider themselves comfortable .

My change is that I now want to earn on my terms, rather than someone else's. I won't run round chasing things anymore, I sort of set my stall out how I want and if they don't want to do business in a way that's suits me then they can go elsewhere.
