RossM 8,119
If I fed my dogs at lunchtime on a Sunday let's say, starved em Monday and wanted to go lamping Tuesday night and not feed until returning and run 70/80 bunnies whilst out I don't care what dog you have or how its bred it WILL NOT perform ...if your grafting them seriously hard you CANNOT miss a feed infact quite the opposite..I feed mine in an afternoon as it takes 8-9 hours to digest their food, lamp them, feed on return, then feed again in the afternoon and they are fuelled to go again the following night..so my dogs will get five pans of scran in 48 hours if lamped two consecutive nights..you live & learn in this game so just do what you think is right for your mutt..if it don't work then change it :-) run 70/80 bunnies ?and hes saying other people talk utter shite Why do you find that hard to believe ??? ...... because its not true And you know this how?........ kevin kiely 66
well u wont get numbers like that hangin around for long in ireland,im begining to think theres must be more people in ireland with lurchers because a good few would be killed off soon and with other fellas shooting and ferreting throughout the season. youd be very lucky to get land for eighty succesful runs and where there not heading for the ditch as soon as the light turns on . the dogs would be capable imo Link to post
kevin kiely 66
stick up the photos of eighty rabbits, must have plenty of pics if its normally done at least once in a season Edited October 8, 2014 by kevin kiely Link to post
weasle 1,119
Yes there right it does happen a lad done a 100 few seasons ago,he went a long way and it didnt sound fun,Others have done it with 2 or 3 dogs let you decide how big a deal that is. Yes your right, somehow doubt many a dog is out running and catching that many then going out the next night, let alone running that many again. But this is internet everything exaggerated . kevin kiely 66
yes it happens i saw a photo on here of a hundred and four. but that was in the- best ever night or dog thread- its a graet night if its achieved but how often could it be done. plus there would be nothing left for it to be done again on that land for a long time definetly not the norm like sum people would lead you to believe.
