Feed Or Not Feed

Years ago dog men of old would say don't feed 1 day of week let them clean themselves out , what you dog men reckon good or bad advice ???

I do it with the ferrets but dog I am not so sure.

it wouldnt harm the dog but I personally wouldn't do it, it's once a day for me, some feeding morn/nite everybody will have different views and there own methods of feeding as long as the dogs healthy and happy performing as It should be it's each to there own

i miss mine once a week.know an oul fella does it himself doesnt ate fook all on a monday hasnt done for yrs an hes 84 still jumping about

Look at it this way do you go a day once a week without food, I will no none of you do so why the Feck would you let your dog go without food. Years ago lads fed there ferrets on pobbys ( bread and milk ) to you younger lads times change and for the better in my mind...atb

I only do it I they get fussy about what they eat. Theyll eat anything after a day with nothing

If I'm going lamping in the night they won't get fed that day till they get home or if I'm out daytime ill feed them the night [BANNED TEXT]! Done it that way for years an found it the best way

It's an old way of thinking that I used to do myself until you look into it scientifically and realise there is no reason to starve a dog off ... What exactly are the dogs going to clean themselves out of ? Parasites ? No we have wormers that can cover any internal parasite ... Excess food in the digestive tract ? No because a canine can process a full meal in 8 hours ... So what is the benefit of starving a working dog for 24 hours ... Nothing ... If you work a dog hard through hunting or a daily routine it needs the fuel to keep going so starving a dog off is detrimental to what you are trying to achieve ..........
