Ferreting

Recommended Posts

Got up early to head ferreting this morning, had the gear all ready last night and in the car so just lifted the ferrets and off i went. got to the land around 9 and set up my nets at the top of a hill (which i was regretting after a while) as i was on my jack jones and hauling all the gear myself was a ball ache  anyway i had 2 new jills to try today so was looking forward to it.

netted up with two long nets and then purse nets on the outer bolt holes. in went my trusty jill and hob and one of the new jills. no action for 5-10 minutes then four fecking bolt within seconds of each other. so after alot of running around and untangling rabbits it settled a bit and i got a few more with one in a purse net. also the new jill had one bottled up live to which i dug, well chuffed with that, so the day was going well so far,

second warren was pretty much the same only it was on a hillside so i kept the hob back and swapped one of the young jills for her sister. netted up in the same way and in the ferrets went, working only to jills this time. spent the rest of the day running around like a headless chicken but was worth it, all bolted except one dig. had to say though ill be fit as a butchers dog if i haul gear like that much more.
