RemyBolt 420
I love to go ratting with my little RatCatcher. Such a fun little gun to shoot. But it occurred to me, I'm using CO2. As far as I can tell, nobody else is using CO2 air rifles. Is that accurate, or are there closet CO2 shooters on here? Quote Link to post
Blackdog92 2,047
A mate of mine shoots a air magnum Co2 and he rates it well. He doesn't shoot vermin just targets he's right into it. 1 Quote Link to post

Coypu Hunter 486
I have three CO2 pistols for plinking or for putting down rats in live traps. I used to have an Umarex 850 AirMagnum CO2 rifle too -- superb trigger, very accurate, only let down by the power drop suffered by CO2 in colder weather. 1 Quote Link to post
ratbuster 807
Do have a Sheridan model F in .20 on Co2, great little rifle, doing around 25 good shots on a bulb in bright weather. Outside temperature is important to get a proper " power " output. Only use it on paper targets, around the 500 - 550 fps mark velocity, depending on the pellet I use (JSB exact 13.1 grains or H&N FTT 11.4 grains) it will be doing between 7 - 9 fpe. 2 Quote Link to post

The ricochet factor is less, and the damage to machinery is much lower if your shot doesn't go to plan. 2 Quote Link to post
ratbuster 807
For that purpose (ratting) it's a very fine rifle, only drawback is you need bright weather to make the best of the C02. As ratting is mostly done in colder months, that could spoil it a bit, but the temperature on a chicken farm (inside) will be significant. Should also keep the C02 bulbs in your coat pocket to get them a bit warmer before putting them in your rifle. 1 Quote Link to post

Just what we need as i found the hw80 was a bit powerfull and the pellets were hitting the roof and walls when it came out the otherside of the rats we shot. 1 Quote Link to post

RedRob 1
Had a short love affair with Co2, had a King Rat and QB78, both tuned, but found them too temperature sensitive, and expensive to run, but good fun while it lasted. Quote Link to post
johnbaz 363
I have a few Co2 guns!Had these two Ratties that I made custom parts for (bottom one has gone now ) XS78 that's been fitted with Max Z bulk fill- The 9ounce bottle should be good for 600 shots minimum! (not emptied it yet ) Charging cylinder for the bulk fill gins!! (Fire extinguisher was a tenner from the bootsale, The taps etc were £25) Just bought this Crosman 600 semi auto pistol and have to say, it's terrific fun but seem to be forever loading it!! This is a Crosman match pistol that I just acquired.. Beretta 92.. Crosman 2240.. Power tends to drop as the ambient temps go down so they have to be set at below the legal limit in high summer as they most llikely will creep over if set near to the limit in the depths of winter!! Coypu Hunter 486
That's a nice collection, johnbaz! I have the Crosman 2240 with the rifle stock and scope mounts added, and a Beretta lookey-likey too. I'm surprised you don't have a Crosman 357 revolver though, or is that on your Christmas list? 1 Quote Link to post
Cedric 132
Coypu - I've just got a Crossman 357 - it's huge ! Great fun though, potting tin cans in the workshop when I get bored - I'll get even less work done now ! 1 Quote Link to post
