Loads to be had here in Spain 150k will get you a run down house with a shitload of land and the rest to do it up

Don't want to build if possible or renovate. In a nice place where would you suggest mushroom

But if a supper place with money to make I might renovate lol

First few things you need to be asking yourself is how long you intend to spend there....and if you see it as an investment or purely a second home.

 

Ive spent the last 10 years hopping from place to place started off in Malaga and lost money,Spain isnt the nice easy going place it was years ago when,we left there it was becoming like something out of the former Soviet Union !.....then bought a big old barn just outside Bordeaux in France,beautiful scenery but a bit too remote,did a fair bit to it and came out a bit in front moneywise.....then bought a house on part of a vineyard near Alvor in Portugal which was great as your earning off the vineyard all the time you own the place,very nice place and they are much more welcoming with good tax incentives for foreign investors.....ended up with a place in Cyprus now just outside Paphos,lovely climate,lovely food....few people i know have places there so it works well and not looking at it as an investment means a more relaxed outlook which after all is the whole point in being there !

 

In terms of how long you spend outside the country its worth keeping things like the Nhs in mind as you wont be entitled if you are more than 6 months abroad....plenty to think about but best of luck in your search
