neems 2,406
My new bitch pees a lot more than usual,it's impossible to stop her going in her kennel no matter how often I take her out,I let her out at 12 most nights and even if I let her out at 6 the next morning there'll be piss everywhere. Any ideas what it could be or how to bring it down? She doesn't drink much anyway but I'm going to bring down the amount of water in her food.

Wxm 1,638
Couple of questions that might help with answers ???? How old is she? How long has it been happening? Has she had a season?
moxy 617
Is she on dry jock?
neems 2,406
She's 4 I think, only had her a couple of months and she's been like this since I got her, seems to have got a bit worse this week. She's spayed.
sandymere 8,263
Could be infection, coukld be pre season, could be many things or just that she's not kennel trained by prev owner.
skycat 6,174
Do you know why the previous owner sold her? In some cases, spayed bitches suffer from urinary incontinence. Is she peeing a lot of small pees or big lakes of pee?
neems 2,406
Lots of small ones, but by morning when i take them out her kennel floor is soaked. though when I' e needed to keep her indoors she hasn't messed at all inside.
sandymere 8,263
Does she pee on her bed?? Could be she sees outside of her bed as OK to pee and if a little stressed not settling and so up and about peeing. Has she access to a run over night? Was she a house dog before? neems 2,406
Nothing in her box,and was kennelled when I got her,but I've got a feeling I'm at least her 4th owner so she was probably a house dog at one point to be so clean indoors. She's settled well IMO. It's more a case of the fact she must go very regularly,I literally can't keep her kennel clean no matter what I do.
sandymere 8,263
Likely see the kennel area other than her bed as the outside so pees. You could try in a cage overnight so she can't pee outside her bed, if it works reduce her kennel access to just a bed area so she has to go outside to pee.
skycat 6,174
Hang on, if she's not pissing in her bed, what's the problem? Surely if she's going in the run that is OK? On the other hand, if she's used to being a house dog, then possibly stress is making her pee a lot when she's in the run: nervous, worried etc.

The thing is she goes about 5 times per walk and her kennel is still always soaked in piss every time,so there's a lot of it.
Gaz_1989 9,539
So she doesn't piss in her bed and doesn't piss in the house. I'm baffled. My bitch must piss 20 times a day.
