Best Pellet For Vermin

What's your opinions on the best pellet for vermin ie dome/hollow point/pointed or flat head I no flat are mainly for target shooters. I am useing AA Diablo field and wanting to try something different. What's your opinion on hollow point? I av been looking at the rws and h&n hollow point anyone use them and how do you fined them on rabbit and pigeon?

Domed and stick with the AA.

will all despatch your quarry if they hit them in the right place.

 

I use domes as I haven't found anything more accurate.

Whichever your rifle groups best with.Its more about accuracy then pellet type.if you hit it in the sweet spot then goodnight!

Like moxy says exacts. I get them from intershoot about 73 quid delivered for a sleeve of 10 tins all the same batch number.

Yup, the most accurate pellet in your rifle is the one that will do the job best. If that's AA Fields, stick with 'em.

 

Hollowpoints, pointed pellets, wadcutters etc. tend in my experience to be unstable in flight at range, so inaccurate.

 

You need penetration to hit the vitals, but pointed pellets won't give you more penetration, because they'll miss the target.

 

Ignore all the claims about hollowpoints etc. To get a hollowpoint to expand, rather than just flatten as pellets do when they hit bone or metal, you need serious velocity, which you won't get from an air rifle.

Like its been said before the most accurate one for your gun , but I find the softer lead pellet does more damage (any of the AA or JSB pellets )

Over the last few months I've being playing about testing a range of different pellets. In that time I've found two or three that I would swear have absolutely transformed my shooting, then when I run out of my new "best ever" pellets I'm forced to use the stash of AA fields that I have built up and every time my groups tighten up! I think the motto of that is when you find a pellet that really suits your rifle stick with it and practice with it until you know its trajectory and how it handles in the wind etc On that note I must dash off, some polymags have just arrived in the post, I bet they'll be 10X better than anything I've ever tried before

Do they fit it you mag James? I'd be interested to see if they are any more accurate than any of the fore mentioned brands.

I'm afraid there was a bit of artistic licence in that post moxy, I was looking at the polymags on ebay earlier and if I could have got a sample pack I would give them a whirl but I am a farmer after all, just couldn't quite bring myself spend that much on lead

As said its the pellet that suits your gun you should be shooting with , my air rifle was in the shop and then the gunsmith sighted for me i saw the target aa field dialbos he took the bull out then changed to wasp's and it was a inch high to the right ?.
