I love the classic style CC but like you said practicality is more important on a foxing rifle. My deer rifle I get next I want a full stutzen stock european mauser rifle

Ha ha ..you know what there's something about the ability to use open sights with a full wooden stutzen stock and if moderators weren't the need for most of us I guess I would be seeking out something a little more vintage looking myself

There is also a problem that develops with age for some, me included, the eyes are not what they were and with Iron sights, I can get the sights or the target in focus, unfortunately not both at the same time, optics can fortunately deal with my eyesight issues.

Fortunately I haven't got the eyesight problem yet I'm only 26. Already looked at a couple of deer rifles just struggling with calibre to be honest

Have a look at howa 1500,22.250.

I was buying a secondhand rem 700, £900 bare.

You can get the howa with bipod,moderator,scope,mag conversion and hard case £850. Brand new.
