Jax13 251
In the process of sorting an old Guinea pig hutch for my first ferrets arriving and I got thinking... How ferret proof is "ferret proof"? It has a 3/4" ply floor, mesh (somewhere between well mesh and chicken wire thickness) panel door but the sides and back are only 3mm ply. Do they need to be thicker? Do I need stronger mesh? What is deemed to be the minimum thickness needed for being ferret proof? The kits I have arriving will only be about 8 weeks old and I was planning on building a bigger, sturdier hutch & run for them in the spring but having read some past threads I am beginning to wonder if they might 'shawshank' me before then. 1 Quote Link to post
