gamerooster 1,179
Anyone ever owned or seen one run? As in a lurcher, not a longdog..... 3/4 beddy or collie? Would be interested in hearing everyones thoughts, and now with the ban place, with rabbits and rats the only legal species, surely these crosses would be up for the task 1 Quote Link to post
blackmaggie 3,376
not seen one in the flesh but should think they would make more than a hardy pot filler without bringing that much attention to you theres one on youtube ferreting in the dales Quote Link to post

forest of dean redneck 11,534
Reverse collie or one off the gun breeds would be good multi purpose dog I reckon. 1 Quote Link to post
gamerooster 1,179
Only thing that would concern me with a reverse gundog cross is the dog being to cobby, collies and beddies on the whole are naturally racy dogs Quote Link to post

gnipper 6,424
was it the warrener had 3/4 GWP 1/4 grey?? The lamper had one called tarn I think. I would say a 3/4 collie would be more agile than that was going off the DVD I saw. Quote Link to post
colliejohn 840
Ive owned and worked a reverse threequarter collie greyhound bitch, sadly she is no longer here, she was a fantastic dog both in the day and on the lamp, exceptionally quick and agile for her breeding and she was good on the long ears before the dreadfull ban came in, these days i own and work her daughter which is 9/16,s collie, 7/16,s greyhound, she is a handy little bitch, a fantastic hunter, and a brilliant ferreting bitch, which i,ve worked all over the country, i also have a dog out of her, which is very heavily collie saturated, he is out of my bitch to Ian Torchie Claytons, excellent reverse threequarter Dan, he to is called Dan, he is just 2 years old,and he is turning into a very good dog, i took him upto The Isle Of Canna, earlier on this year, has i was a member of the team which carried out the big rabbit job, he did very well and it really brought him on, my own preference is for a dog of this breeding has if schooled and entered properly these dogs excel at daytime mooching, ferreting, and lamping, and mine also takes feather. regards collie john. 13 Quote Link to post
