Chr15j 59
We remain united! Time to close off the Scottish thread and focus on our collective great nation the UNITED KINGDOM. Salmond drove a wedge, now let's resolve that and get on with being Great Britain together. We are all patriots, English, Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish, we are UNITED. I will stand along side anyone in our union irrespective of the way they voted, so long as they behave and act in the best interest if the UK as a whole. No more Scots hating English etc. or vise versa, it's pathetic and unpatriotic. United we stand, we will not be divided and we will not fall!
charlie caller 3,654
Fantastic we can now look forward to the Scots getting all the bribes that the 3 headed lib/lab/con monster have promised them, having a voice in English matters, voting on English policies, yea great Britain, well civic nationalism is bull***t, I was longing for them to piss off and hoping the Welsh did too, then we could maybe start to get our country back, you know the one they dont like to mention, unless its a football match ENGLAND, then everything else its Britain

mackay 3,429
I'm Scottish and totally disagree with Scottish mp's being allowed to vote on English matters that do not concern them. I E, hunting was already banned in Scotland, so therefore the Scottish mp's had voted, job done, case closed. Unfortunately not the case, they were flown to England, the majority of them labour wanting to feck the torie toffs and were included in a vote to ban hunting in England. Can you imagine if the shoe were on the other foot?, the outcry about the unfairness would have been deafening. You can't have your cake and eat it, as many Scots would like. The hunting ban in England should now be repealed and another vote taken with no Scottish influence, and any other matters relating only to England should involve only English mp's.
charlie caller 3,654
No I wont, I dont hold a grudge against genuine Scots who wanted independence, in fact I admire them, as they are not doing it out of hatred of the English, the ones I hate are the tossers like tzar Salmond who just wanted to see what else he could sponge out of Westminster, in money and prizes, I never thought for one minute they would have the balls to be free of us, I hoped for it, but never believed it would happen. The Prime Minister said that he will provide a “decisive answer” to the so-called “West Lothian Question” by the time of the next election. However, Douglas Alexander, a shadow Labour minister, immediately hit out at the plans. Labour has 40 Scottish MPs and any move to prevent them voting in Parliament on a series of devolved issues would severely impact the party’s ability to block or pass laws in future. He didn't have to give us English anything, but at least he realises that constitutional reform is needed across the board to make everyone feel content with the Union and not just the rebellious Scots. I'll take you up on the Hunting Act point; we were promised a free vote in parliament, without a conservative majority that vote would be a waste of time and worse than that it'd be a waste of potentially the only opportunity we have to have parliament scrap the Act. Personally as a hunting man I completely support Cameron on that.

Maybe mate. But I do think this referendum has made Westminster realise how fragile the Union can be and how the English, who represent the largest portion of it, could detroy it if we as one of it's constituents are not respected. Great good could come from this...... or delayed destruction.
Truther 1,579
A real shame about the no vote I thought i might sneak over the Scottish border and claim political asylum, free house, food, medical care..ect, and then when enough of my fellow English did the same we could form our own small English only community, course we would have to get you Scots to change your ways a bit so as not to "offend" us, no flying of your flag, or wearing T shirts with any Scottish nationalistic themes, your police, local councils and politicians would have to put us first before true Scots, that should be pretty easy with so many labour mp's We might even start looking at kids cartoons and trying to ban anything that might offend us lol........I know that sounds crazy and would be impossible in the real world in this day and age, but i can dream eh Edited September 19, 2014 by Truther
charlie caller 3,654
I cant wait to see how many of his little promises he breaks, to the English of course, not to tzar Salmond, good heavens that would never do.
Ggib 370
In the uk every country in it deserves to be treated and respected equally, and it shows the majority want to be in it, not by force or bribes but for the feeling of stability, safety, and most of all because they want too. Labour I mean the scotch mps don't need to partake in english matters, in fact it would be better if they didn't since they want their own say now, then Scotland would be the only country in the uk where hunting is banned, as everywhere else would get repealed in a heartbeat
