I used to work rotating shifts, lates, earlies, nights= and it really knocks you out. Took me about a year before i could actually feel my bodyclock getting back on track. Shifts cause many medical pr

I was the same with bad stomach probs , Ive always had sensitive gut even now , one day solid next loose get fed up with it. I worked at Goodyear - tyre/builder for 15 months 3 shifts =morning

Have to agree, never done shifts, but I have done 12 hours days or more sometimes.....physical work......people used to say to me 'ah, but it keeps you fit'......fcuk off it sucks the life out of you!

Done both of these shift patterns Bob in a factory, the four on four off is a piece of piss  the only downside if its a 7day operation you will work a lot of weekends,we hardly ever seemed to get a full weekend off.The upside is lots of time off in the week when everyone else is in work :boogy: Sleep wise I never slept well on nights and would never do them again :censored::censored: :censored: hated them. The three shift pattern youre on now was changed as production hit an all time low, month in month out,as everyone was tired of constantly being in work due to the shorter shifts,I remember one Christmas on that shift pattern the firm give out coulouring in pictures for the staffs kids to do,the best one winning a prize.....the pictures came back with captions like "no we wont see daddy this Christmas he works at f***ing Proctor and Gamble":laugh: They didn't like it much

4 on 4 off is a brilliant shift

12 hrs is a breeze as well Bob. Once you start you`ll wonder what the fuss was.

I work 14, 12hr nights then come home, it takes me a week to turn back round, now that's a killer. Quicker I can escape that the better.

Been shifts of some description for 30 yrs.

I did eight months of mixed day / night shifts and it took about a year to get my sleeping pattern back when i got a proper job. I think my dad was right when he said " nights is for sleeping, and popping pheasants. "
