meles_meles 0
Hi, I just wanted to introduce myself to this forum. I am 28 years old and at the moment doing an exchange trimester in Edinburgh at the Napier University. Since a bit more than three years I'm in the possession of my hunting license and have been quite passionate about hunting since then. I am from the north of Germany near Hamburg where I also hunt, mostly roe deer and wild boar, but also some fallow deer and of course smaller animals like foxes or hares. I will stay in Edinburgh until Christmas which unfortunately isn't that long, but if anyone has an idea where I could get in contact with Scottish hunters (in real life ;-)) I would be very, very happy. With contact I mean the chance to see how hunting happens in Scotland, of course not by shooting something myself, but maybe taking part in whatever kind of activitiy related to hunting (some kind of work that might be done where I could be of help, shooting events near Edinburgh, maybe even accompanying someone on a hung, whatever...). For me it would be very nice to see how hunting is done in other countries. I've travelled to New Zealand last year and it was very interesting to see the different approach taken there on hunting so I just hope that I will have the chance to get in touch with scottish hunting one way or the other. Thanks a lot and best regards, Jan p.s.: Here a picture of me with a roe buck taken shortly before I left to Scotland. It was a one year old buck which nearly hasn't had any antlers (if thats what you call them!?) apart from very small "buttons" as we call them in Germany. I was very happy that I got it because it takes more practice to identify such a buck than the one with gigantic antlers ;-)
