Muntjac Man 0
The Deer Commission for Scotland website had an excellent pictorial step-by-step process for butchering deer in their best practice section (albeit it's based around Reds). I have used it on Roe, and it's superb! it seems to have vanished off their website at the moment, but they are re-vamping the whole site, and appear to be re-doing all their guides, so may be worth keeping an eye on their website over the coming months. As i must admit i'm not the best at it. and want to find a handy- er way of doing it. none of that stone in the hide shit, knife or nothing!!!! i'll get a pic of the stag when i recouperate. as i'm banjaxed........2hr 20min drag 230 plus kilos........ on-point 0
it sounds like one hell of a beast and a good old drag. Anyone any idea where i can find out a bit more about aging roe by teeth. and also i've shot a buck which might be a silver/gold - how do i tell? first decent one i've shot - as its normally all just wacking does and prickets. any info would be great Quote Link to post
Guest basil46
If it helps, i butcher my deer the same way as i would a lamb, so, ask your butcher nicely he may show you. basil46 Quote Link to post

If you need more info PM me and I'll have a look for my copy (in a box somewhere at the moment as we're re-doing the lounge and we had to empty the bookcase!!) Rgds MM Quote Link to post
