Too Many Bunnys Too Many Holes !

My favorite item for hedges is my folding hand saw.. . comes in very handy for clearing little places to pop a net along a run.

one of my other essential items apart from all the usual set ups is some Double pegged 4ft and 5ft purse nets,I never fail with these placed on the runs through the bottoms of the hedges in between holes or on the runs through to next set of holes. . sometimes i put a couple on same run to catch the double bolters if there's lots of bunnies below.. It can be done with standard purse nets but a lot easier to set with double pegged nets.

Just got back from looking at a new bit of ground, the amount of rabbits is unreal taking hundreds. But the warrens run all the way up the hedgline the amount of holes was unreal. Got to be over 100. I just think if you put there ferret down there you would lose it ! I don't know how there feck I'm gonna do it ? Some of the holes you wouldn't be able to get too either as the hedge was just too thick in places.

I thought the same when I started back out 5 years ago , nothing is unferretable now , but it's sure easier with someone else and it makes for a good craic whilst your falling about making an arse of yourself to : ) , you will learn a lot ferreting this place and the more ferrets the better long and stop nets good, and just purse net a few of the most active holes along where your ferreting . Of course there's some southern ferreters who'd turn there nose up at a day in a ditch full of blackthorn bramble and stingers , it can be a pain to set up just take your time if poss then reep the rewards ,
