zandy01 3,575
I used this http://www.lawsonanimalfeeds.co.uk/wound-treatment/207-tuff-pads.html on my whippets pads and stoppers, put in spray bottle for easier application - made his pads like leather and helped toughen up stopper pads which he kept splitting open whilst just free running during summer when ground was solid... Has antiseptic too which helps clean/heal wounds... Quote Link to post

DEERMAN 1,020
mix it 70/30 with surgical sprits Quote Link to post
zandy01 3,575
Jwhizz - mines paws were cracked and stopper pads split open/cut He didn't like it being applied but don't think it hurt him, may sting a little but certainly safe to put on I would've thought - that's what it's designed for... Does smell toxic but you can be sure he won't try and lick it off his paws... Quote Link to post

jeemes 4,480
Or you can just use surgical spirit which is mostly what that stuff will be I think, but you need to wait until the rawness has healed. Surgical spirit will toughen up the pads. To help the healing you do well to spray on some epsom salts twice a day for a week. 1 Quote Link to post
slip lead 862
Not much you can put on the pads (that's going to stay there) if there out side in a kennel be careful what he stands in. Just keep washing with salty water and some disinfectant, if outside, as often as possible. Quote Link to post
