I think the peace process could have been put into motion decades before it began, politicians here made a bad situation worse without a doubt, and stalled on peace. though in his latter years he did mellow and we all saw a better side to him if you will. people need to move forward.

thats true norseman in the end he only help put together what he wrecked in the 70s

I agree with that but I also think it wasn't helped by the likes of Adams or Mcguinness back in the day, all of them will have to meet their maker...........................

along with the mi5 agent...its like animal farm lol

Some people liked him, some people hated him, but would we gave gotten this far without him? In the peace process

how far.peace lol tell that to the lads getting shot in the legs every other night..
in general, like bombings, hits on innocent workers, no more tit for tat against each other. But people getting shot in the legs is usually a punishment shooting? What did they do wrong to get punished? Rob an old couple, house break, joy riders, the scum bags that we all know fine well exist in this society aswell as everywhere, but I ment the cease fires in general

My bet is that most of the violence still going has more to do with criminality than sectarian bad blood........that bad blood will be years in the clearing mind you, but when the young folk who have broader horizons become the adults hopefully all those men of the gun will just be long dead bad memories.

It's been going on what? 400 years?........sections of both sides have blood on their hands.

As an Englishman it stuck in my throat to see Gerry and Martin getting treated like statesmen but the bottom line is, if it saves innocent lives from Republican and Loyalist nutcases then I will just have to get over myself and realise it's worth it.

Long May peace linger in a great country with great people.
