Wildling 520
The man did more for his country than the minority he opposed,he swore allegiance to the Queen and steadfastly defended the principle of free speech and the democratic process. His hatred for the terrorist scum influenced his contempt for the Catholic faith, his major fault perhaps but the times and troubles influenced the populace in harsher ways then.He stood against successive goverments in his resolve to bring about peace without giving in to the terrorists demands, something he finally caved in to and shared the peace process with his hated enemies, especially Adams.History will at some time vindicate much of what he stood for,a true Brit was Ian Paisley.he only resided in it, it was never his By that reasoning any one born from Irish parents in The UK isn't british, grow up you idiot it's bullshit like that that's had the Catholics and Protestants at each other's throats for far to long.

Sectarian violence against fellow Christians was/is the biggest travesty that the various Church's allowed to happen. Instead of promoting a strong and unified faith we've allowed it to become weak and meaningless to the rest of the world and indeed to our own peoples! Even if it never paid a big part in the daily lives of most people it did provide a moral guidance that made all western nations great, without this moral guidance we have become week and corrupt and scared.............

norseman 424
I think the peace process could have been put into motion decades before it began, politicians here made a bad situation worse without a doubt, and stalled on peace. though in his latter years he did mellow and we all saw a better side to him if you will. people need to move forward.

But people getting shot in the legs is usually a punishment shooting? What did they do wrong to get punished? Rob an old couple, house break, joy riders, the scum bags that we all know fine well exist in this society aswell as everywhere, but I ment the cease fires in general Edited September 12, 2014 by Ggib
