Rez 4,957
Maybe the wrong forum, not quite a story, but the post will relate well in this one... How do members find the game bags vary with the seasons... Rabbits in the summer, squirrels in the autumn etc...? I'm finding that now the nights are unfortunately drawing in, rabbits are less out and about within reason, but the pigeons and tree rats are easier to see in the branches as the leaves are falling of the trees. Do we find that most game taken during the colder months are feathered? How do you adjust your target species thought out the year? Edited September 11, 2014 by Rez Quote Link to post
bugg 84
Maybe slightly more pigeons in the winter, but only if I have time to spend a day in the woods\field, the squirrels tend to get an easier time in the depth of winter in my woods, but only because I dont want to irradicate them completely, the damage has been done so 'managing stock' so to speak so there is a good few left for next spring\summer, I shoot rabbits 90% of the time in the dark anyway so shorter days aren't really too much of a problem for me, the most annoying thing is only having 2 hours after work before dark instead of 4 or 5 buggers the lovely evening beach fishing up too lol Quote Link to post
Bigad 136
I normally shoot rabbits with a lamp anyway but just got some night vision so should be fun when I can get out again. laid up till November had an operation on my foot . Quote Link to post
