Paul I hear this regular...you at least know what you are getting, yea a collie cross, does that imply if you buy privately you dont?I don't understand why it keeps getting said,

You get a 1/2 cross or 3/8 5/8 cross from un worked parents ,I understand that bit ,but why is that relevant,or it does exactly what it says on the tin,

Not having a go just don't understand the logic

Ronseal dogs. They are exactly what it says on the tin. Nothing more or less. Collie grey hybrids of various, but known fractions. Hancocks business is selling pups. Not my thing. poorly fed and unsoc

As I've said I have no problem with the dogs themselves it's the breeding practices I'd sooner give my hard earned to someone who cares for the welfare of pups they produce,a first cross collie ,is a

as said above with a hancock dog you know exactly whats in the breeding and will have a fair idea of the size it will make. there's no guarantees with a hancock dog or any other for that matter. an ol

what I mean roybo is when you sometimes buy privately sometimes the seller will tell you what YOU WANT to hear not always the truth so to speak ..

and with hancock you know if its advertised as a 1/2 cross 3/4 cross or whatever then it will be just that..

now not all sellers are like this as everyone knows and not all people work there dogs to a high standard worth breeding from but when you go to buy one you can bet your last penny it would of caught everything going ...jmo.

you just have to be careful when buying that's all..

Well that's true mate ,but that goes for anything in life buddy

.I am sure we've all made mistakes, buying off dishonest people .

But all things being equal I'd sooner do my research and buy privately ,than perpetuate a puppy farm for working dogs ,now if Hancock do did bull crosses how many would buy off him?

I think it is because a lot of litters advertised as collie greyhounds by unscrupulous breeders most definitely are not, as i have found myself. Or you ring to inquire and you are told that the dam or sire has a bit of saluki in it way back. I think the fact of the matter is there are not that many other GENUINE breeders of collie crosses out there and that is why Mr. Hancock is still in business.
