bird 9,970
my mate had 2 , 1st 1/4 b/b 3/4 grey dog, and 2nd 3/8 b/b 5/8 grey bitch . few lads on here seen the dog ( jake) work , good on hares, rabbits, foxes , he was big dog 27in 70 odd lb big fawn dog , real good dog. The bitch was ok but her temp was not good I don't think compare to the dog , she was very moody fooker sometimes she work, next day didn't want to know. I never go there only because the pups arnt socialised proper ,and wernt very clean kept. But few people have of late and said that the place is 100% better now, I think (sally) took over that side of it now.And I know few lads who looked at few home bred litter not so long back, and some places were shit holes .So you take your chance its your money, for me I rather have home bred pup and with bit of luck it might turn out not bad lurcher .! roybo 2,873
As I've said I have no problem with the dogs themselves it's the breeding practices I'd sooner give my hard earned to someone who cares for the welfare of pups they produce,a first cross collie ,is a first cross collie,so is a 5/8 etc so why line their pockets to buy a nervey cowering pup that might work. 3 Quote Link to post

Polkey 70
i have one, 18 months now, can't fault him so far, looking forward to the season ahead, Been easy to train, great in the house, family, kids etc. Personally didn't see Hancocks place looking bad, was clean and well kept. Iv'e seen some right shit holes looking at litters before, gardens and kennels loaded with shit, kitchens not much better. One place I went to had so much shit in the garden i was shocked, never seen anything like it. If you look at the way animals are intensively farmed in this country so you can all happily buy your cheap burgers and chickens from Asda then you look at how Hancock breeds dogs I think its unfair to be hating on them. There not pumping out puppies non stop out of the bitches they have but it's a business at the end of the day. Most the cloths on your back amongst may other things would have been made in countries where people are paid a pittance that they can hardly survive on, they live in squalor yet we happily support it by buying cheap cloths, etc and never give it a second thought. Slagging Hancock off is hypocritical when you look at what your money pays for day to day and what you are contributing to. 1 Quote Link to post

wuyang 513
Poor old hancock always gets a hard time. Maybe a puppy farmer, but he does a better job than most. Quote Link to post

bradus 311
I had a Hancock bitch in 90,s she was a good alrounder never failed me Quote Link to post
Accip74 7,112
A good friend went there in the early 90's & got his first lurcher.......he was pretty shocked at the set-up, but took his pup.....& what a beast that dog turned out to be, would not of been out of place on the pre-ban fox thread. Easily capable of multiples in a night, always single handed, a real intense dog in every way......busted his leg in the end whilst catching a fox, a limp leg while still relishing his prey, cut a pitiful sight......but showed the true measure of the dog, he was never forgotten. I had a second hand Hancock bitch as well & she was a joy to own.......she was no fox dog though ;-) Edited September 13, 2014 by Accip74 Quote Link to post
bigbailey 90
Pups on the website when I last looked didn't look too good Quote Link to post
foresterj 1,096
There's a white and black pup on there that to be fair is piss poor, all rib and pin bones at 8weeks. Hardly the best way to quell the critics and a dreadful advert for their stockmanship. Quote Link to post
