I once had a nasty experience with my mates lurcher.we were ferreting a very thick prickly hedgerow, we managed to set a few purse nets with difficulty and ran out the long nets.Anyway after catching a few one of the rabbits managed to escape the longnet and was heading straight for me! With the lurcher right up his arse.Next thing I know I'm on my arse with a very sore shin and was left with a nasty bruise.Every time I think about it I have a cold shiver down my legs.Who else has experienced this being "BOWLED OVER"?

U ducked down 1 night on the lamp as I was in the way, young and dumb the rabbit flew past me and the dog hit me straight in thw face, seen stars for a few mins but the dog killed the bunny haha shaun

In the 90 s we were out lamp ing and my mate kicked a hare running at full tilt with the dog behind it, he nearly broke his leg doing it, that was the 1st n last time he ever did it

Mate of mine got hit by his big heavy dog one night we were out after a rabbit and it threw him up in the air, his legs were black for weeks Another lad tried to stop a rabbit my old dog was running with his foot and the dog smacked straight into him, he might of only been 22" but he was about 22 kilo and could shift so he must have hit him with some force.

A mate of mine suffered a bad skull fracture being knocked arse over tit by two big lurchers bursting out of cover. Luckily for him the fox shooting out almost at his feet caused him to turn sharpish and face the opposite way to watch it go, otherwise them dogs would have snapped his legs too!

 

I think plenty have had a 'bump' or two when lamping. Dizzy bunnies can head right back down the beam and a transfixed lamper can really get hurt by a transfixed mutt..!

I was at a driven coursing meeting when a really hard pushed hare ran through the line of spectators on the opposite side of the field from me. There was an old boy stood leaning on a stick and the hare dodged right past him immediately followed by one of the greyhounds that smacked right into the old boy. There was a sickening 'crack' easily audible from 150 yards away and the old fella dropped like a stone. Everyone held their breath, thinking it was his leg that had broken, but it turned out the greyhound had smacked into his stick, which had just snapped in two.

Was just setting off lamping let the dog off on the playing field to empty him self the wham right in to my knee i felt fine but sore but half way round lamping it hurt more by the end of the night my pal had to hold me up took me hours to get home my knee the following morning was huge and couldn't really walk properly for over a week because i am a Yorkshire man and hard as nails i didn't go the hospital more fool me it f***ing hammered lol still not right to this day

rabbit ran straight towards me though right don't move only end up going that way ..

Mates lurcher straight through me as I landed battery gave me a big thud on my back but he caught it haha

lamping one night ,and my lurcher was running towards me after a bunny ,i stepped to one side to let the dog pass and the dog went to the same side to pass me.

she hit me and knocked my legs from under me, i landed face down and mostly on my shoulder.

Had to go to hospital next day as i couldnt move my arm, turned out i had crushed my biscep tendon, had to have an opp and 13 weeks of work.

good job i had insurance cos the sick pay was shite.

Some mates of mine were lamping some big parkland,,,,they had a young green kid out with them,,,they told him to stand behind a tree,, and jump out and grab a fallow as they run down a run,,,, stupid fecker tried it,,lol, and was knocked clean over,,, as he tried to get up,,,a big feck off bull cross knocked him clean out,,,,,,aparantly he was out cold for a good while....
