Help With Trapping A Fox

Hi just wondering, if a fox has been despatched in a trap does it leave any odours in the trap that would deter future foxes from entering the trap?

 

Not that i know of. I've had 3 in 3 nights in the same trap.

on with my first urban fox job at a builders merchants, set the trap at 11 o'clock Monday morning baited with cat food had a call at 3 to say had a fox, reset trap & got number 2 on Thursday morning, reset with butchers dog food with tripe after reading this thread, went down at 7.30 as they opened today & saw Charlie checking out the trap sat & watched him sniffing round the trap then he just walked straight in bingo number 3. time to get another 62p tin of butchers to reset Monday morning

Put a piece of chicken in they can't resist it put it at the back of the trap if you still don't get them the trap might need making longer I have them in my garden every night an have had a few in the trap home made works for me atb

As said above wires are your best bet but if you use a cage bed it into the ground Charlie don't like stepping off dirt on to steel mesh
