Carbine Or Standard

Recommended Posts

Bit contravertial i know but..... a self certified ballistic geek once explained to me (not that i fully understood) that basically the effect of the muzzle blast of a carbine barrel on the pellet after exiting the barrel should in theory have a significant effect on accuracy......but look how accurate carbines are. I personally dont think that over the ranges we shoot at it makes a significant difference at all.

A lot of people have their own opinions on this mine is that i like the standard barrel as all the guns ive owned have not been carbines - i would like to try one though

That's what I said to her last night

The HW fsb is noisy ,you need another mod on it which makes it even longer

The only reason for using a longer barrel on a PCP is to increase power potential or to decrease air usage per shot .

A longer barrel can be less accurate due to longer lock time and more wobble from the time the trigger is pulled to the pellet leaving the barrel
