NEWKID 27,143
Thanks a lot for all the replies lads. Cheers Clive, as I said we were made up you all enjoyed it so much, it raised a good few quid for Dymented and we all had a great time too, everyone's a winner. I've talked with Geth a bit about it since and we think there could be an opportunity there to offer lads for a weekend away, no fixed plans yet but we might set a couple of weekends aside next year and see if there is a bit if interest. In the meantime I've a couple more spots id like to give a go for the bass, and we want to recce the couple of Islands we fished around for possible wild camp sites, plus we both want to have another night prawn bashing!!

jonah. 775
There's more than a bit of interest from us 3 kev, one of the best weekends we've had in a long time. Just keep us posted as like most folk, the hardest thing is getting the dates to work for all involved, if you set that, the rest can be worked round, the weather will do what it does regardless, you just gotta be prepared for worst and best case. The fish will or won't be there, that's fishing, but you've proved that your capable of weighing the odds in favour, really impressed by your prep and drive to get on the sport, it played off mate. I like them islands mate, if we had a bit more time I'd of happily carried on Sunday. I'd managed to get the canoe that wasn't pulling to the left on Sunday too, Pmsl!! Looks like matey from Saturday night got you hooked on prawn lamping lol... You an geth were like 2 kids when you got back from your mission, killer bait an all to be fair!

Yum yumIt's pretty simple mate, we hunted the gullies and rock ledges at low tide, using a head torch, you can clearly see the prawns eyes shining red. The prawns are clinging to the kelp and rock face it's then a simple task of using a landing net on an extendable handle and scooping them out. Brilliant..!!You can buy traps or use a baited drop net, but I've never done this before and me any Geth were like a couple of kids collecting them. Here's a couple of pics. Ggib 370
Are they in the water or stuck on the rocks? They look delicious better than the frozen farmed prawns they'll be sweet
