shepp 2,285
I have two hobs and a jill, One of the hobs has become such a bully to the other two that I have had to separate them. Only thing is it means the pen is divided and the bullying little shit is miserable on his own. Has anybody had an older hob castrated and if so did it change the personality of the ferret as in how it interacted with other ferrets? By the way he is fine with me. Quote Link to post
bobcullen79 1,495
Probably fighting over the jill? Should be alright when autumn kicks in. Castrating should calm him a bit, but then come next season, the other uncastrated hob might be up for starting the trouble. Just easier to split them up over the summer. Quote Link to post
beast 1,884
i have a pari of castrates males here which live ok together, but it took months to get them to be relaxed and comfortable together, they were both adults when castrated. we still have a few strugles at feed time unless i split them up to eat. shepp 2,285
Cheers guys, my two are litter brothers and were fine untill I took the bully out to leave the vasectomised hob with the Jill. I think I will phone around to get a price for him to be castrated. Quote Link to post

SeanBlenk 7
Castrated one of mine, calmed he down no end. Not that he was nasty or anything, just skitish. It cost about £40, in and out same day. Cheers Sean Quote Link to post
