I don't believe we can legally stop them. If they hold a British passport then they have the right to enter this country. We can't rescind their passport if British is their sole nationality because of the UN law on people being stateless. To my mind, the best we can do with returning IS fighters is to lock them up on some sort of terrorism charges and then deport them to the Iraqi Gov' for trial?

 

By far the best thing to do though is deal with them while they are legitimate targets. The sooner RAF Tornados and Reaper drones are operational over the skys of Iraq/Syria the better imo. The UK Gov really need to take responsibilty for this mess and clean up their shit while they can. International law has our hands tied but we have this loophole to exploit.

Very true. I also worked with them many years ago. However, their is the odd ones, out in the desert that are not too bad, as i hunted with them and their salukis. They got to know me after a while well and gifted me a saluki of my choice. Pity i could not bring it back into the uk as she was a demon on many things.
