Mixing whiskey with coke is a mortal sin

I've always said the day I drink a whisky and say "oh that was lovely"...I'm giving up drinking...lol

I would of loved to be a Whisk(e)y drinker, the romance and history of the Scottish Highlands, or the Peat bogs of Ireland, the fantastic names etc, it all sounds fecking wonderful....

Sadly, its all nasty, stomach churning fire water and even a mere sniff of it makes me balk.... :bad:

I was recently given a bottle of, I am told, finest single malt. Being a non-whiskey drinker, I managed to make it more palatable with copious amounts of coke and ice. Now my whiskey drinking friends describe me as a heathen !! Strange people.

Never been a whiskey person but then again i have never tried a decent whiskey. Been talking about splashing out on something decent just to see the difference from the crap i have tried. Any suggestions on something good but something that i wont have to take out a loan to buy??

The Glen Scotia 12 is not bad for the price, or if you can get it any of the old Campbell town whisky and you will have a nice drink. I had a bottle of 25 year old from the old Campbell town distillery given me one year for Christmas, saddest day was when the bottle was empty. Absolutely beautiful to drink.
