Wildling 520
If im out in the feilds i mostly akways have a spade if a cow or any livestock tried to attack me or the dog id would rap it round the things head personally, i'd be on my toes well before thatand if it did injure me or inure or kill the dog id go get a gun and blow its brains out course you would and why would you carry a spade round with you best just to get out the way What would blowing out the brains do to make you feel better, it's not like the livestocks is to blame if you walk around them with a dog that they aren't used to. Don't think the farmer would be to happy ether! Quote Link to post

tomshep 41
Like people have said already just leave your dog and get yourself safe if it goes tits up when in with cattle. It takes a fair bit for cattle to kill a dog, at work we run about 300 head of cattle in the summer months on grazeing and when we have to gather them for tb testing or whatever other job we run them into the yards with dogs.i have seen a few of my collies get some fair big hits of the cows and they seam to get out ok. slip lead 862
I found a yapping terrier, seems to annoy them more than the sight of a lurcher. On more than 1 occasion, I've had to bolt with the terrier under me arm. Edited September 4, 2014 by slip lead Quote Link to post

slip lead 862
I was out with a mate lamping, and his dog was chasing a rabbit to the fence line and a horse was running towards them along the same fence. Well the dog ended up running under the horses belly, both at full pelt, the dog yelped, and I thought he was a gonna, as the horse thunderd up the field. But when we check him over he didn't have a scratch, I was so glade it wasn't me holding the lamp on that perticular run. About two hours later, the same dog knocked himself spark out, on a post, and that put an end to the nights proceedings. Happy Hunting. Quote Link to post
slip lead 862
In moa in daylight, I would much rather walk fields full of cattle, rather than come across a stallion in a field with me dog. Edited September 4, 2014 by slip lead 1 Quote Link to post
