WELL AFTER ALL WE VE TAKEN THE 10 COMMANDMENTS OUT OF OUR COURTS OUR GOVERNMENT,WE VE TAKEN THE BIBLE OUT OF SCHOOLS OUT OF OUR LIVES ,WHEN THE SUNS OUT WHO WANTS GOD?WHEN THINGS GO WRONG WHEN DISASTER HITS ITS EITHER A LAST DITCH ATTEMPT AT MAKING RESOLUTION OR ITS ANGER AT WHY GOD DIDN T INTERVENE.THE WORLD DOESN T WANT GODS DIRCTIONS FOR LIFE,IT WANTS HIM AS A WHIPPING BOY WHEN THINGS GO WRONG THOUGH.9/11 WAS THE PERFECT EXAMPLE,NEVER HEARD GOD GET SO MUCH PUBLICITY

WHERE WAS GOD,WHEN THIS WENT WRONG OR THAT WENT WRONG.EASY HE WAS WHERE "YOU"ALWAYS WANTED HIM TO BE.

People are coloured by their experiences, which they seek an answer for, some have greater faith in God

while others have greater doubts, the connection to God has to come from within first, then all is revealed

but most people do not search long and hard enough for this connection or simply don't know how to.

i'm not a church goer and haven't done since school apart from weddings and funerals and i don't rigidly

follow religion, but i do have certain codes of conduct i try to live by which most people would call christian values although i may not be 100 % perfect,i strongly feel about hunting and taking part in hunting, although i hate having to kill something for the sake of it,i think my earlier experiences of hunting will change the way i hunt and maybe be a fairer hunter,as i say i enjoy the hunting itself and not

the actual killing,i have tried to stop hunting completely but my thoughts keep returning to getting out with dogs and ferrets,so now i have to conclude that maybe God is guiding me,i became miserable when i stopped and i'm sure God doesn't want another soul to be unhappy, yet i don't go around killing/shooting/

stabbing people on the streets nor do i have any desire to harm innocent people,i don't get involved in fighting reigous causes as i can see it's a man made fear of God,maybe God wants me to hunt instead and direct my instincts away from mindless destructive behaviour by showing me an outlet in the form of hunting with animals, this is the only way i can describe my influences with God/spirituality and hunting, all the best,

Higgins.

Examples of persecution Yorkshire?

You only have to look at the witch killings that spread through Europe for that one.

For the Brits being essentially pagan, well just look closer at the festivities that pass for Christian these days....Christmas, Easter etc then there's the May Day celebrations, the green men in churches, the holly and the ivy, it's all dressed up as christianity to make it more palatable. Chaucer even alludes to it in the Wife of Bath's Prologue and Tale, but then I think he had some issues with the Christians

I think it was Cesar who said that the British were painted with their idols, walked around shirtless and were full of boasting and posturing...fast forward two thousand years and that's Maidstone on a Saturday night

lol :clapper: ..............

Deeds of men though mate ;) .........just as Stalin put away 11million in the name of communism..........Adolf 6 million in the name of National socialism............The British Empire in the name of the King, Queen etc

All those things dont mean there is not something greater than us............? ;)

By the way, I know this could go round and round all night, so we wont............just nice to have a discussion with someone with a brain.

:D

 NO OFFENCE AGAINST ANY ONE BUT DOES THIS BELONG ON A HUNTING FORUM !!!! :hmm: I DONT BELIEVE GOD EXSISTS IF HE DOES WHY IS THERE THAT MUCH MURDER RAPE AND STARVATION IN THE WORLD?????

It could be argued that there would be a lot more if it wer'nt for God, there is also a lot of good in the world but it dos'nt make the news as much, I have always remembered Dave Allens end to his shows, "Goodnight and may YOUR God go with you."

He was one hell of a funny bloke, never missed a show. :clapper:

Few links here mate

WILF you are right mate...Have you read Jumpers by Tom Stoppard?

He tries to mathematically prove the existence of God. Very interesting reading and brings up the God of Creation versus the Benevelent God and how the two images are not necessarily the same for everyone.

The Kingdom of God is inside you and all around you,

Not in a mansion of wood and stone.

Split a piece of wood and God is there,

Lift a stone and you will find God

Sums it up for me!

Nice one

I'm a Christian, and my relationship with God is just that ... my relationship. I don't need to thump folks over the head with it, and while I may not agree with someone else's religion I still respect other people for who they are.

I would expect to apply that same respect to anything I might someday hunt/kill.

Folks who think God doesn't exist might do some research into the resurrection. Try to disprove it - I dare you ;)

It's a play actually mate so it's in a typical arse about face way.

Have you been to that second hand book shop in Rochester? Biggest in the country and that's where I got mine. Well worth a browse and I've had some nice old dog books out of there too.

Respect and faith are very good things and they should extend to other peoples beliefs too....Decency is a common denominator I'd hope and whatever badge you wear, I think it's something I hope we all have. Some of my best friends are christian  I'd never force my opinions on anyone but I love talking about theology, but without the defensiveness
